When it comes to places to eat in east London, Mare Street is home to some of the coolest hideaways. From Instagrammable coffee at Palm Vaults to edgy bites at Martello Hall and a pretty hipster space in the form of Mare Street Market, there’s something for everyone. But the one cosy cafe and restaurant bringing you all that in one is Palaette Hackney.
Located just minutes from Hackney Central and Hackney Downs stations lies Palaette. It’s a super comfy spot with marble-top tables, cute window seating and blankets for the terrace outside. Visiting for a weekend lunch date with Josh we really got a feel for the brunch and dinner offering, with a menu encompassing the likes of gorgeous latte art and smoothies alongside pasta and prosecco.
Must-try dishes on the Palaette cafe menu? If you’re veggie, then the aubergine boat is a definite. King prawns were could easily rival that of a tapas restaurant while dessert came in the form of freshly baked cakes and pastries. The breakfast and brunch plates looks delicious too, so they’ll definitely be on my list for next time.
